“One of the passengers died on the spot. Another died after they reached the hospital. As network is pathetic, we have not been able to get updates on the incident. The wedding party was going from Ramchenga (SGH) to the wedding spot in Wachalgre,” said the SP, Abraham T Sangma.

The victims were travelling in a Bolero Pik-Up (ML-08C 5824) which in villages sometimes carries more than 35 people in crammed up space.

“The vehicle fell about 30 metres (98.4 feet) down a hill from the village road, which led to the many being injured. Details are not fully known as the injured were immediately rushed to the nearby Sibbari PHC for treatment. Due to issues of network connectivity, we have not been able to verify details fully,” stated the SP.
