Conrad Sangma campaigns for NPP's Silchar candidate

SHILLONG, April 13: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma who is also the national president of the National People’s Party (NPP) was seen campaigning for the party’s candidate for the Silchar Lok Sabha seat which will go to polls on April 18 next.

Conrad had visited Silchar on Saturday to campaign for the candidate, Nazia Yasmin Mazumder who is contesting against Congress’s sitting MP Sushmita Dev, BJP’s Dr Rajdeep Roy in Silchar during the ensuing Lok Sabha elections 2019.

The other candidates in fray are Shyam Deo Kurmi of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Hitabrata Roy of the All India Trinamool Congress, Badrul Islam Barbhuiya of the All India Forward Bloc, Nazia Yasmin Mazumdar of National People’s Party and Independent candidates Ashitava Datta, Ashutosh Bhattacharjee, Nazmul Haque Laskar, Puran Lal Goala, Shuvadeep Datta, Mohendra Chandra Das, and Sabindra Das.
