BSF apprehends anti-national element, seizes cattle

TURA, Aug 28: Troops of the BSF BOP Shibbari ex-40 Battalion, Tura, apprehended a person while he was attempting to enter India from Bangladesh on Thursday.
The person has been identified as Sarwan Kumar Jaiswal from Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.
Jaiswal is suspected to be involved in various anti-national activities.
He was handed over to police for questioning.
Meanwhile, the BSF of Assam and Meghalaya Frontier seized 48 cattle worth Rs 7.36 lakh from three locations at Dhubri and the Jaintia Hills border on Friday while they were being smuggled to Bangladesh.
The BSF have strengthened operations to check trans-border activities along the Indo-Bangla border.
