Shillong, Sept 07: State Government’s cold attitude towards Garoland issue makes ANVC(B) feel as if they don’t exist at all. Stating this Chairman, ANVC(B), Rimpu N. Marak Friday has invited the state government for an open debate on Garoland issue and needs of the Garo people in general, while declaring this to be the outfit’s democratic step.
In his invitation Rimpu said “We believe, responding to our call and debating with us will not make the State to lose its dignity and pride†adding “We hope to sort out our issue, and refrain series of complications and conflicts from surfacing within the State by headstrong attitude of the Government.â€
Appealing the State Government is to respond to its invitation for open debate, ANVC(B) leader said, “We know our rights, and we know where we stand today.â€

Rimpu also reiterated that ANVC(B) does not want bloodshed and any unfortunate incidents to take place which will only widen the social coexistence of the people in the State.
He, however, did mentioned that the outfit had sent SMSs to ‘many’ Garo legislators including the Garo Opposition Leader Conrad K Sangma to raise the ‘Garoland’ issue in Autumn Session but the issue remained ignored.
