Tura, Sept 28: MeECL has always been lackadaisical when it comes to reforming themselves to better suit the people they serve. The same has been evident in the various initiatives it has taken within Meghalaya. However, what for now seems to be the worst part of their attitude, is the importance it pays to lighting villages to lighten the load of the rural populace. What has come to light is that in some areas of Garo Hills, electricity has been missing for about 25 days in a month, and the reason for it seems to be the fact that it has only one lineman for a stretch of road of about 40 kms.
