Has Hek committed a ‘Masood’ in medical seats allocation

Written by Meghalaya Times. Posted in Front Page

Staff Reporter
SHILLONG, Oct 06: The recent allotment of medical seats to students under the state quota in medical colleges across the country has earned ire from the student community and others. A unique Meghalaya type phenomenon as students who have scored lower marks in their higher secondary examination are allotted medical berths in top prestigious medical colleges in the country whereas those who have topped the chart are made to hunt for seats elsewhere. This is the true and shameless story of Meghalaya which is trying to create cream out of a bunch of low scoring back benchers in classroom. What precedence it is going to set for the future of this state where the health scenario is dismally poor and the least talked about education the better it is.
