GVK EMRI – Meghalaya conducted a one day First Responder Training (AHA) program for the students of B.Sc Community Health Practitioner and the faculty of the Department of Allied Health Science of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Shillong on Saturday at the office premises.

SHILLONG, June 15: Self appointed Chancellor of the controversial CMJ University, Chandra Mohan Jha on Saturday sought state government’s intervention to ensure early resumption of academic activities of the University even as he accused the actions taken by the Governor, also the Visitor for the varsity, as nothing but a ‘personal grudge’ against him.

RTI unearths corruption during Meghalaya Election 2013

SHILLONG, June 14: An RTI finding on Friday exposed the huge alleged “misappropriation” of funds allotted for conducting the last Meghalaya Legislative Assembly elections by the Mairang Sub-Divisional Officer (Election) office, even as punitive action has been sought from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on the matter citing that it is a gross violation of the order issued by the ECI.

While the fight has been on to get their dues, the citizens along the border have complained of something that is even more acute – their work being stolen by neighbors from across the border.

Mooshahary wants CBI to probe CMJ University

SHILLONG, June 14: With the CID failing to make any headway, Meghalaya Governor Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary on Friday suggested the state government to transfer the investigation into the controversial Chandra Mohan Jha University to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), considering the extensive ramifications of the case.

ANVC(B) to sign settlement pact with official SoO

SHILLONG, June 14: Expressing its seriousness to bring back peace in Garo Hills, ANVC(B) Friday informed that it will sign the final settlement even without any official "Suspension of Operation (SoO)" with the Government.
“ANVC(B) leader (Rimpu N Marak) is determined to sign the Final Settlement before anything goes wrong in the process of waiting,” the outfit’s Publicity Secretary, Doang Shira said in a press communiqué here.
