Staff Reporter Shillong, Mar. 04: The Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) employees on Thursday agitated by putting on black flags in protest against not being paid as per the Fourth Pay Commission. Shillong Municipal Employees Association president S. Pyngrope said that the government has turned a deaf ear inspite of repeated demands. Vowing to continue their agitation if the government fails to heed their demands, the association said that they had earlier met former Urban Affairs Minister Paul Lyngdoh, who had assured them that they would be paid according to the recommendations of the Fourth Pay Commission by February, but the assurance ended with the shift in power.
