Multi-specialty Camp held at Pomlum Village

SHILLONG, March.03: A multi-speciality Health Camp was organised at Pomlum Village, located around one kilometre away from the Head Quarters of the Eastern Air Command, Upper Shillong. A total of 104 patients from Pomlum and nearby villages were examined by a team of three doctors from the Air Force including two local medical officers.
The camp was received support by two doctors from PHS Pomlum. Besides, dental check ups were also performed by the dentist from Air Force. ROKO Cancer also participated in the camp for cervical and breast cancer screening. Free medicines, partly sponsored by NRHM, Shillong, were distributed to all the patients while lectures on health education and awareness were also conducted on the occasion.
The camp was visited by the president, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) Regional, Richa Sharda and president AFWWA (Local) along with other women of HQ EAC, IAF. The guests were received by the commanding officer, Wg Cdr Bharat Sharda and senior medical officer, Flt Lt Jitu Kalita.
