Dempo ties down Lajong at 0-0

Written by Meghalaya Times. Posted in Sports

Staff Reporter
SHILLONG Jan 13: Shillong Lajong’s bad luck continued to dominate on Sunday, despite dominating the game from the first whistle to the end, they had to share points  with Dempo Sports Club after their match ended in a goalless draw. However, Lajong themselves are to be blamed, as they had missed opportunities to  convert as many as four open chances in the entire game and also they had got six  corner flag kicks where as Dempo had three corner kicks.
In the very first minute of the game Lajong got three consecutive corners but  none came close to the target as Dempo’s defense stood strong against them. Dempo made their first attempt at the goal in the 12th minute through Koko Sakibo  with a weak shot which was not a major test for local custodian Lalthuammawia  Ralte to grab the ball.
