SHILLONG, Feb 13: In a thrilling semi-final of the Under 14 football tournament, organized by Shillong Sports Association (SSA), Shillong Lajong FC colts got the better of Marbisu Sports Club, winning 4-2 on penalties on Wednesday at Polo Ground, after being locked at 0-0 after regulation and extra time.
SHILLONG, Feb 12: Umlyngka staked their claim in the SSA U-14 finals despite being a goal behind early on in Tuesday’s thriller at Ground III, Polo Grounds.
Melvin Marbaniang’s 14th minute penalty put the Royals in the lead as they looked headed to an inspiring win. Royal Wahingdoh started off strongly but threw the match away after lapses in the defence, which was in turn smartly manipulated by the aggressive-looking Umlyngka attack.
SHILLONG, Feb 02: Shillong Lajong Football Club broke their jinks of goalless matches against United Sikkim FC when they won by 2-1 in the match of the second North East Derby, Round 19 of the I-League which was played at the JN Stadium Shillong on Saturday.
The Reds started brightly and enjoyed most of the early possession right from the word go and could have taken the lead in the very first minute but were unlucky when their first attempt on goal hit the bar. The host had plenty of chances coming their way but were unfortunate not to find the back of the net despite an array of quality football displayed.

Both the teams are eager to earn full points and stay away from relegation zone. On December 8 last year United Sikkim hosted Shillong Lajong FC and both sides had to share points as the game resulted in a goalless draw.
