Dempo ties down Lajong at 0-0

SHILLONG Jan 13: Shillong Lajong’s bad luck continued to dominate on Sunday, despite dominating the game from the first whistle to the end, they had to share points  with Dempo Sports Club after their match ended in a goalless draw. However, Lajong themselves are to be blamed, as they had missed opportunities to  convert as many as four open chances in the entire game and also they had got six  corner flag kicks where as Dempo had three corner kicks.
In the very first minute of the game Lajong got three consecutive corners but  none came close to the target as Dempo’s defense stood strong against them. Dempo made their first attempt at the goal in the 12th minute through Koko Sakibo  with a weak shot which was not a major test for local custodian Lalthuammawia  Ralte to grab the ball.

SHILLONG, Jan 12: Shillong Lajong will have no other choice than to go all out to take home advantage and pocket full points when they host fourth placed Dempo SC in Sunday match of I-League at JN Sports Complex and consolidate their position in the points table.
The home team who have not had a good going of late, needs to improve on their defense and their striking department since off late Lajong have had dismal performance. Placed at 12th placed with 11 points, Lajong is just a point ahead of United Sikkim who are currently at the bottom of the table, after their draw game against Mumbai FC.

Desmond Bulpin’s side goes in to the match with a worrying factor as the squad has been hit by several injury problems for some of the key players and this has become a major concern for the team which will certainly force Bulpin to explore his squad replacements.
