Shillong Lajong FC look to get back at Aizawl FC

SHILLONG, Dec 17: It’s finally time for the first North East Derby of the I-League 2017/18 season. Aizawl FC will host Shillong Lajong at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on Monday at 2 PM.

Before arriving in Aizawl, Shillong Lajong had two tough away fixtures in Kolkata that is against East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. Even though it wasn’t the best start to their away campaign but they did pick up one point however from Mohun Bagan’s den on 14th December after both sides converted a penalty in either half’s of the match. Head Coach Bobby Nongbet said that a point was a blessing after the previous 5-1 defeat to East Bengal.

Langsning romp home to 7-0 win in Meghalaya State League opener

SHILLONG, Dec 17: Four goals from Wanlamsuk Nongkhlaw powered Langsning to a 7-0 victory over Shilliang Umdoh in the opening Group B match of the inaugural Meghalaya State League (MSL) at Kurkalang Ground in Bhoirymbong on Saturday.
Shilliang Umdoh gave a good account of themselves in the first half, which saw only one goal scored - that of Nongkhlaw, who netted the ball low to the right of the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute.

Assam Rifles shines in 5th Meghalaya State Tennis Tournament 2017

SHILLONG, Dec 17: The finale of 5th Meghalaya State Tennis Tournament 2017 was held at Shillong club on December 16, 2017, wherein Jwelitta Johnson from Assam Rifles won the women’s category singles, Doubles and came up at runner – up position in under 16 open category.
In Men’s category, Sanjeev Chetri won the singles title, while Gidean D. Shira was runner up.

SHILLONG, Dec 10: The 14th annual Mr. Meghalaya Body Building and 1st Miss Fitness and 1st Men’s Physique competition was held on December 9, 2017. Organized by the Meghalaya Body Building and Fitness Association (MBBFA), under the aegis of the World Amateur Body Building Association (WABBA) India, the event saw the participation of 22 participants in the body building event and 19 participants in the men’s physique.

Bijoy Deka of Assam wins Turathon 2017

TURA, Nov 12: More than 500 runners participated in the Turathon Hill Challenge on Sunday held at the National Highway – 44E from Jengjal in West Garo Hills to Megagre in East Garo Hills.
Organised by Tura Runner Club (TRC), the marathon had three different categories – 7 km glory run, 21 km half marathon and 42 km full marathon. It is for the first time that a full marathon was held in Garo hills, which had participation from different parts of the country including Ethiopia, Kenya and Nepal.
