AIZAWL, May 10: The Assam Rifles K Kawla U-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament, organized by 23 Sector Assam Rifles under IGAR (East), an initiative of MHA concluded on Tuesday.
The final match of Assam Rifles K Kawla U-19 Girls Football Talent Hunt Tournament was played between Aizawl and Kolasib in the morning session at AR Ground, Aizawl. Aizawl trounced Kolasib by 8-0 to become the winners of the coveted Assam Rifles K Kawla U-19 Girls Football Talent Hunt Trophy. Miss Mizoram, Rody H Vanlalhriatpuii was the chief guest during the match.

Shillong Lajong to play Mohun Bagan

Shillong, May 09: Shillong Lajong will play their second group B match against Mohun Bagan on Wednesday at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack at 7PM. The match will broadcast live on Ten 2.
It was a disappointing first day for the Reds in Cuttack as they succumbed to a 3-2 loss versus Bengaluru FC. Udanta Singh and Eugeneson Lyngdoh provided the two goals for the winning side and their third was a defensive mistake by Lajong captain, Aiborlang Khonjee which resulted in an own goal.

SHILLONG, May 09: St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School pulled off their second win from a goal down on Tuesday, which ensured that they finished at the top of Group B in the Assam Rifles CAPF Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament for Meghalaya. St Anthony’s defeated West Jaintia Hills District Sports Association 2-1 in the boys’ match.

Laitkor, Wahingdoh, Nongstoin reach Assam Rifles CAPF U-19 semifinals

SHILLONG, May 07: Laitkor SC won a place in the girls’ semifinals of the Assam Rifles CAPF Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament for Meghalaya with a 4-0 victory over Umiuh SC here on Sunday.
It was a fateful match-up as either side would have qualified for the last-four with a victory. Group A leaders Umsning SC, who had already qualified for the semis, confirmed their place at the top of the four teams with a 7-0 win (their third in all) over Mawryngkneng SC in the morning match.
In the boys’ division, Nongstoin District Sports Association qualified at the top of Group A on goal difference, followed by Wahingdoh FC.

Lajong FC beings Federation Cup campaign against Bengaluru FC

SHILLONG, May 07: Shillong Lajong FC will begin their Federation Cup 2017 campaign on Monday when they take on Bengaluru FC at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack at 4 PM. The match will telecast live on Ten 2.
Groups for the Hero Federation Cup have been chalked out based on a respective Team’s position in the final Hero I-league table.
Teams finishing 1st, 3rd, 6th and 8th in the final table of the Hero I-League have been clubbed in Group A, while Teams finishing 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th have been slotted in Group B.  Top two Teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals which are slated to kick-off on May 14.
