U-15 Youth League: Rangdajied beat Lajong 2-1

SHILLONG, Jan 10: Rangdajied United registered a 2-1 win over Lajong Junior Reds in the last game of the U-15 Youth League Shillong - Guwahati Zone at Polo Ground in Shillong on Wednesday.
Guifingstar Rapsang scored the opening goal for Rangdajied in the 5th minute while Pynkupbor Kharbteng scored the second goal in the 50th minute.
Shankerlang Kshiar scored the solitary goal for the Lajong Junior Reds in the 82nd minute.

Langsning, NorthEast United win on 2nd day of U-16 Republic Cup

SHILLONG, Jan 09: Langsning had a tough fight, but bagged a full three points in their U-16 Republic Cup match on Tuesday by beating Rympei 3-2 in Group B. NorthEast United, meanwhile, eased past Umroh 7-0 in Group A in the other match of the second day with Dajiedlang Wanshong pulling off a hat-trick.
Langsning took an early lead through Banrikupar Kharsohnoh in the sixth minute, but Rympei equalised seven minutes later via a close range goal from Richmon War.

NECDC deliberates on host of issues to promote Cricket in NE

SHILLONG, Jan 09: The executive committee meeting of North East Cricket Development Committee (NECDC) which is a coordinating body of six NADP state of BCCI as members namely Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim was held in Gangtok on Monday, hosted by Sikkim Cricket Association. The meeting chaired by Naba Bhattacharjee, Co-Convener NECDC, deliberated on a host of issues.
The meeting unanimously resolved to sustain and strengthen the present approach of working together for development of cricket in the six states and extend support to each other and work in close coordination towards attaining the goal of NECDC as per norms and guidelines of BCCI and CoA.

Lajong registers first win of the year, one ups Indian Arrows

SHILLONG, Jan 08: Shillong Lajong FC registered their first win of the year as they went on to defeat the AIFF developmental side Indian Arrows 1-0 and moved up a place in the points table with 14 points from 9 matches. The match was held at the JN Stadium in Shillong on Monday.
The REDS made two changes in their starting line up as captain Samuel Lalmuanpuia came in replacing Redeem Tlang and Kynsailang Khongsit was brought in to fill the void of injured Laurence Doe. From the very first kick of the game, the home side looked quite positive with the ball, playing with an attacking intent. It was as early as the 4th minute when Lajong were awarded a freekick which yielded no positive result.

U-16 Republic Cup kicks off in Shillong

SHILLONG, Jan 08: The Republic Cup, an U-16 football tournament organised by the Meghalaya Football Players Association, kicked off on Monday morning at Third Ground, Polo.
Two fixtures were held on the opening day. In Group A Nongthymmai Football Coaching Centre and Lumshyiap FC played out a 1-1 draw, while the second game, in Group B, saw Upper Shillong steamroll Mawpat FC 7-0.
