SHILLONG, July 25: Shillong Lajong FC’s Centre Back, Chinglensana Singh and Midfielder Isaac Vanmalsawma have been selected for the Indian National Senior Team Camp which will start from July 25, 2016 in New Delhi for the preparation of the Exposure trip and International Friendly matches to the US from August 1 to 14, 2016.

TURA, July 18: The dates for the biggest football event of the year namely the Tura Football League 2016 were announced on Monday by the District Football Association (DFA) here.
The month long tournament gives platform for soccer talents of West Garo Hills. It has three categories namely Super Division, Division – A and Division – B.

Red Horns’ football tournament kicks off, 24 teams vie for crown

TURA, July 17: In a major boost to football in the region, the Red Horns Football Tournament under the Red Horns Sadbhavna project was kicked off on Saturday amid much fanfare. Aptly titled ‘Kick for a Cause’, the tournament will be held over 44 days with 67 matches to be played amongst the competing teams.

Jowai youth completes national football coaching course

SHILLONG, July 13: Amity Tongper, a prominent footballer from Jaintia Hills region, has successfully completed the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS) Patiala Diploma Course in Football Coaching.
Tongper, a resident of the Mynthong locality of Jowai in West Jaintia Hills (WJH) district, is one among the seven students from the North East states who was selected to take up the diploma course.

Lajong Youngsters Crowned Champions of 8th Bodousa Cup 2016

SHILLONG, July 11: Shillong Lajong FC Youngsters were crowned Champions of the 8th Bodousa Cup 2016 after winning 2-0 against Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) SC on Sunday in Tinsukia, Assam.
The Lajong youngsters remained undefeated throughout this tournament and conceded only two goals. The team coached by Alison Kharsyntiew played with Great Spirit and won the hearts of many in Assam.
The Reds who started the match as favourites after defeating defending Champions Oil India FC in the Semi Finals, played a good game today and pressed forward right from kick off.
