SHILLONG, Aug 21: The East Khasi Hills District Badminton Association (EKHDBA) will be participating in the 34th Meghalaya State Badminton Championship 2016 to be held at West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin from August 23 to 26, 2016.

Inter Formation Eastern Command Hockey Championship 2016-17 held

SHILLONG, Aug 08: Inter Formation Eastern Command Hockey Championship 2016-17 was conducted at Assam Regimental Centre (ARC), Shillong from August 1 – 8, 2016.
A total of 15 teams from all across Eastern Command have participated in the Championship. The matches were played on league basis.

Mawlai duo brings laurels to State in Kickboxing

SHILLONG, Aug 08: Khrawbok Marwein and Albanrilang Pearson Mylliem Umlong have done Meghalaya proud by winning top honors at the recently concluded WAKO India Senior National Kickboxing 2016 held from August 3 – 7, 2016 at Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Khrawbok Marweiñ bagged Gold Medal at Ring Sports (Low Kick) in below 51 kg category while Albanrilang Pearson Mylliem Umlong had to contend with a Silver Medal for the Ring Sports (K-1 Rules) below 51 kg category.
Both are residents of Mawlai Iewrynghep. They will reach Mawlai on August 10, 2016.
Both of them have been felicitated last year for winning bronze medal at the National and regional Level of such Kickboxing Championships.

Garo Hills resident wins national gold in Taekwondo

TURA, Aug 07: In another moment of pride for the Garo Hills region and the entire state, another athlete and a student of a local school in North Garo Hills won a gold medal at the 3rd Ambedkar National Games held in New Delhi in the discipline of Taekwondo.
Amarjyoti Rongkho (15), a resident of Jonglapara in North Garo Hills and student of St Thomas Higher Secondary School in Mendipathar in North Garo Hills (NGH) won the gold in the boys under 63 kgs category.

Lajong Youngsters Beat Zo United 2-1

SHILLONG, Aug 06: Shillong Lajong FC Youngsters showcased yet another dominating performance to top the Group B in the ongoing Independence Day Cup in Aizawl. Lajong won by 2-1 against Zo United FC on Saturday at the AR Ground.
Samuel Lalmuanpuia scored the two goals for Lajong while Sawmtea netted for Zo United.
