Lajong hopes to hold fort against mighty East Bengal

Shillong, Nov 30: Come Saturday and all road leads to JN Sports Complex to witness round nine match of I-League when number nine placed Lajong host Federation Cup Champion and table leader East Bengal Club.
The mood in the Lajong camp is upbeat after Wednesday’s results when they beat inform Pailan Arrows 3-1, in the round eight match of the league.
On the other hand East Bengal will try to ease out the uneasiness as it was in Shillong they had suffered the last defeat during the 2011-12 seasons (2-1) in February, since than they have remained unbeaten.

“We know the important of the match and we will go all out to pocket full points” said East Bengal coach Trevor James Morgan and added “to remain at the top of the league, we will have to win as there is just a points different between us and Dempo”. He further added “Lajong is a difficult challenge, and on top of it the journey is another challenge”.
On the injury part he said “we have some nagging injury problem which we picked up during a crucial match against Salgaocar SC but it should not worry us”.
On the other hand Lajong, who got into a winning trend after having three successive defeats, will look forward to stop East Bengal from winning any points. They have a good result at home when it comes to the Kolkata side. They beat Mohun Bagan (2-0) and Prayag United SC (3-2).
“We hope we will get the result tomorrow and if the crowd is there behind us it will be easier to reach the target” Lajong coach Desmond Bulpin said.
He also said that Boithan and Ramluhia will be out as they are nursing their injuries and added “we have got very competitive match on Saturday”.
Match kicks off at 2:00 pm.
