Lajong hopes to hold fort against mighty East Bengal

Shillong, Nov 30: Come Saturday and all road leads to JN Sports Complex to witness round nine match of I-League when number nine placed Lajong host Federation Cup Champion and table leader East Bengal Club.
The mood in the Lajong camp is upbeat after Wednesday’s results when they beat inform Pailan Arrows 3-1, in the round eight match of the league.
On the other hand East Bengal will try to ease out the uneasiness as it was in Shillong they had suffered the last defeat during the 2011-12 seasons (2-1) in February, since than they have remained unbeaten.

Shillong Lajong beats Pailan Arrows 3-1

SHILLONG, Nov 28: Shillong Lajong Football Club earned full points in the round eight match of the I-League defeating off coloured Pailan Arrows 3-1 here at the JN Sports Complex on Wednesday. With this win now Lajong has got ten points from eight matches.
Lajong took an early lead before the tourists could feel the test of the turf and it was Sushil Kumar Singh who neatly headed home the aerial cross ball set by Jacob Lalrawngbawla from left flank into the box in the 3rd minute of the game.

Ri – Bhoi wins a thriller, reach Semi Final

Shillong, Nov 28: In the Last match of group B Under-25 age category of the Inter District Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association, Ri - Bhoi Cricket Association defeated All Jaintia Cricket Association, in a thrilling encounter, by 1 wicket on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Jaintia Hills were all out for 122 runs in allotted 35 overs with Deibormi Rngad contributing 43 runs off 73 balls. Akshay Singh claimed 3 wickets conceding 17 runs for Ri-Bhoi.
In reply, Ri-Bhoi chased down the target in 32.5 overs at the loss of 9 wickets, with Joseph Lyngdoh scoring 32 runs off 52 balls. Heiser Bareh and Jeff Lytting claimed 3 wickets conceding 13 and 14 runs respectively.
In the first semifinal on Thursday East Khasi will clash with Ri-Bhoi.

Lajong to host Pailian arrows

Shillong, Nov 27: Tenth placed Shillong Lajong FC will hosts AIFF youth development team and presently holding sixth place in the I-League points table Pailan Arrows in the eighth round of the Indian League.
“We might win the match but it will be not an easy game for us” Lajong coach Desmond Bulpin said while talking to the reporters during the pre match briefing on Tuesday.

15th All India Inter CPSU Carrom Tournament underway

Shillong, Nov 27:  The '15th All India Inter CPSU Carrom Tournament 2012' which is being hosted by NEEPCO and being conducted by the Meghalaya Carrom Association got underway on Tuesday at JN Indoor Complex, Polo.
The Tournament is scheduled for four days, from November 27 – 30.
The Opening Ceremony was graced by Director – Personnel of NEEPCO, IP Barooah and Director-Finance of NEEPCO, AG West Kharkongor.
A total of 9 teams are participating in the tournament - NEEPCO, CEAS, NHPC, REC, SJVN, PGCIL, BBMB, THDC, and PFC.
The closing ceremony will be held at 3 pm on November 30.
