SHILLONG, Jan 31: The Pay For Right Youth Club Malki in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Shillong East Khasi Hills District organized the Inter Youth Club Sports Tournament which included Basketball, Cricket and Football matches. The activities started from January 21 and will go on till February 4.
In the Basketball Final played on Tuesday, Onyx defeated Promising Sports Club by three baskets, Onyx scored thirty nine baskets whereas Promising scored thirty six baskets at the end of fulltime.
In the Cricket finals, Ace Cricket Club defeated Friends United by 7 runs.
Ace scored 35 runs and Friends United managed to score 29 runs .
The Closing Ceremony of Inter Youth Club Sports Tournament will be held on the FebruaryÂ 4 with the final rounds of football to be held at Malki Football Ground at 1 pm.
Deputy Chief Minister , B.M.Lanong, M.L.A. Jaiaw Constituency, Paul Lyngdoh, M.D.C. Malki/Laitumkhrah Constituency, Neil Antonio War , District Youth Coordinator,Â N.Y.K., Dr.Salam D.Singh and Bah Phira Rani are expected to grace the occasion with their presence.
SHILLONG, Jan 31: Royal Wahingdoh FC and Ar-Hima FC will kick off their 2nd division I-League on Wednesday.
RoyalÂ Wahingdoh will take on Samaleshwari SC at Cuttack while Ar-Hima who is grouped in Silchar willÂ play against Aizwal FC.
Meanwhile, Langsning FC who are grouped in Delhi phase and will begin its testimony ThursdayÂ against Golden Threads, have announced the names of the player for the 2nd division I-League.

Nongpoh, Jan 30: The Ri-Bhoi Badminton Association (RBBA) which is the association looking behind theÂ upliftment of the Badminton in Ri-Bhoi District, will be organizing 3rd State Level Veteran Badminton Championshipâ€™ to be held at the Indoor Stadium of the State Sport Council in Nongpoh from February 9Â to 11.
President of the RBBA, Ferdynald Kharkamni, informed that, the Association had taken up with the decision for organizing with the Championship in a bid to provide the opportunity to the veterans of the district to expose their talent to the outside world.
The participants will be divided in three groups, 35 years above for Men and Women in Single and Double, 45 years above and the third group of 55 years above both in the men and women of the Single and doubles.The last date for submitting the application form is February 5.

WILLIAMNAGAR, Jan 29: For the first time in the history of Williamnagar, Mikkimbe Chedillang Youth Club of Kusimkolgre-B organized a Marathon race with the theme “Run for Peace” keeping in mind an much needed peace in Garo hills presently.
Though the morning was very chill and misty, more than 800 competitors of all age group from in and around Williamnagar participated in the Marathon Race with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Nikseng Marak with the timing of 1:20:41 seconds was awarded a Bajaj Discover Motor Bike as the 1st Prize from the Male category. Tezeng Marak came second, winning cash prize of Rs 10000, Bolding Sangma took home the third prize and received Rs 5000 as cash prize.
Shillong, Jan 28: Pune FC came from behind to hold Shillong Lajong 1-1 in a round 17 match of the I-League football at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex here Sturday.
Tuboi scored for Lajong in the 51st minute while Mandjou Keita pulled it back for the visitors in the 71st. Lajong moved to 18 points while Pune FC are on 28 points.
Lajong kicked off the game in an electrifying mood and created some good moves. In the 13th minute, Eugeneson Lyngdoh missed from close. And then in the 28th minute, Boithang Haokip failed to hold onto a John Menyongar cross.
Pune FC slowly picked up the rhythm and in the 33rd minute, they came close when as Gurjinder Kumar’s header hit the barpost.
Changing over, Seikhohau Tuboi broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when he gently tapped in a Lalramluaha pass to put Lajong in the lead.
Pune went all out in the attack and pulled it back twenty minutes later. Lajong defender Wailadmi Passah handled the ball inside the penalty box and Mandjou Keita gleefully converted from the spot. Pune FC’s Subhash Singh was adjudged the Man-of-the-match.
