Final Phase of U20 I-League begins with Lajong vs Mumbai

SHILLONG, Apr 30:
Shillong Lajong FC Under -20 will take on Mumbai FC in the inaugural match of the final phase of Under-20 I-League on May 6 at Kalyani.
Lajong along with Prayag United SC had qualified from Group A, with Mohun Bagan and East Bengal failing to make it for the final round and will take on Churchill Brothers on May 9.

OM Roy Memorial Secondary lifts Tata Tea Soccer Stars 2012

OM Roy Memorial Secondary School lifted the title of under 15 seven aside All India Finals of the Tata Tea Jaago Re Inter Milan Soccer Stars 2012 on Saturday after they defeated HRDC Army Boys School 2-0 in the finals played at Polo Ground.
Tournament’s Most Valuable player and top scorer of the meet went to O.M Roy Memorial Secondary School‘s Obadaiah Bareh while the Best Goalkeeper award was bagged by Amit Khawas of HRDC Army Boys School, Lucknow.

Shillong Lad selected for “Cricket Champs”

Sushant Roy who represented Meghalaya Cricket Association in the BCCI under 16 tournaments held at Chhatisgarh in 2011-12 got selected for Under 16 team of India’s first ever cricket reality show called ‘Cricket Champs'.  He is the son of Ramesh Roy of Bishnupur, Shillong and is a student of Kendriya Vidyala, Laitkor.

Garo Union School defeats SPS by 3 wickets

In the match played between Garo Union School and Shillong public School under the 7th I.P. Das Memorial and 4th Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Cricket tournament organized by the Shillong Cricket Association. Garo Union School defeated Shillong public School by 3 wickets here on Saturday.
Shillong Public School won the toss and elected to bat first piling a score of 101 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 20 overs. Banker top scored with 24 of 31 balls while Jengrang took 4 for 9 runs of 4 overs.
In reply Garo Union School scored 102 runs for 7 in 14.3 overs. Tengrang scored 17 of 22 balls while Advian took 2 for 16 runs.
Next matches will be played between Jail road Boys Higher Secondary School and Shillong Public School; Ruprekha Parishad and St. Xavier's School.

Lajong young guns hog the sunshine in I-League U-20

The Shillong Lajong Football Club Under – 20 side which has made it to the final round of the Under-20 I-League are all geared up after they beat East Bengal, Prayag United SC 1-0 from Group A.
They however lost to Mohun Bagang 0-1 and are presently camping at Kalyani where the final round will be played.
AIFF are yet to notify the date for the meet.
The team, which comprises of players who all are under the age of 18 or less, yet have proved to be a side to be reckoned with, regardless of which teams they have faced.
