BCCI, Vice President to inaugurate Shillong Cricket Academy

Shillong, May 31:
The Shillong Cricket Academy under the aegis of the Shillong Cricket Association will be inaugurated by Vice President of the BCCI, Chitrak Mitra and IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, DP Wahlang, on Saturday at 8:30 am at the Cricket Ground, Polo, Shillong.
The Academy has 110 students in the age group of 7 to 14 years coming from different schools of Shillong including SOS Village Umiam. The Academy has 6 coaches who have certification from BCCI which include Head Coach, M Das, M Laloo, G Rynjah, V Das Gupta, S Pradhan, D Pal, Technical Director, PJ Lamare and the Director of the Academy, G kharkongor. This is the first cricket academy in the state.

Meghalaya to participate in National Youth Athletic Meet

Shillong, May 30:
Meghalaya Athletics Association will be concentrating in junior and sub-junior level, said Deputy Director, AK Marak and secretary MAA, Finely Pariat while addressing media persons here at JN Sports complex on Wednesday.
“Meghalaya will be participating in National Youth Athletic Meet scheduled on July 13 and 14 at Bangalore and we will be concentrating in the events that we have the talents like long run, sprint and high jump”, said the MAA members.

Royal Wahingdoh FC beat Lawmali SC 6-0

Kirionaid Pyngrope's hattrick helped Royal Wahingdoh FC thrash Lawmali SC 6-0 in the under 19 Shillong Premier Legue here at JN Sports Complex on Wednesday.
It was Mason War who broke the tie in the 13th minute while Keneth Thabah scored a brace in the 18th and 44th while Kirionald Pyngrope scored fourth goal for his team in the 45th minute, fifth goal in the 59th minute while netted the sixth goal for his team and hattrick for himself in the 70th minute.

BCCI Open Trial for Bowlers conducted, none selected

Shillong, May 28:
The National Cricket Academy (NCA) of the BCCI conducted the Open Trails for Bowlers at the SCA Cricket Ground, Shillong on Sunday and Monday.
Altogether 300 registered for the trials and 185 turned out during the two days of trial.

SCA Congratulates Gary Lamare on scaling Mt Everest

The Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) congratulates Gary Lamare who scaled the Mt Everest as a photographer for Discovery Channel along with the Indian Army Adventure Team.
Gary has done the state proud by setting foot at the world's highest point and at the same time he has dived to the deepest sea as a professional diver, SCA said.
