Lajong U-12 to represent India in BRICS International Youth Football Tournament

SHILLONG, Aug 13: Shillong Lajong  Under-12 youth team will be participating in the very first edition of BRICS International Youth Football Tournament to be held in Putian, China on August 16, 2017. The games will be held at the Putian Sports Center and is hosted by the local government of Putian and the General Administration of Sport of Putian, operated by Fujian Aoxuan Football club and Quansheng International Sports Management Co. Ltd.
Shillong Lajong FC Academy will be the only team to represent India in the tournament.

Finale of Freedom Challenge Cup on Aug 15

TURA, Aug 13: The ongoing Freedom Fest will conclude with a grand finale on Tuesday afternoon with the final matches of the Freedom Challenge Cup and under – 15 Bhaichung Bhutia Champions Cup.
 Indian football legend Bhaichung Bhutia will witness the event and announce the grand launch of Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools – a William Initiative, an academy that aims to foster football talents of Garo Hills.

Freedom Challenge Cup underway in Tura

TURA, Aug 06: Tura United Football club defeated Modynagar club with 3-1 goals in a thrilling knock out match of the Freedom Challenge Cup 2017 held Saturday evening at Chandmari playground.
 The match began on a high note with both teams playing their level field.
 The captain of Tura United Derian Ch. Marak scored the first goal in 16 minutes and boosted the morale of his teams, which lead to subsequent goals by Stiemly Sangma in 38 minutes.

Bhattacharya felicitated for BCCI appointment

SHILLONG, July 22: The honorary secretary of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) Naba Bhattacharjee has been felicitated for being appointed to a committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Bhatarcharjee was recently named in the special committee on Lodha reforms along with seven other cricket administrators including former India skipper Sourav Ganguly.

Tura, July 02: The District Football Association (DFA), Tura held its annual general meeting on Saturday evening and re-elected Jasper P. Marak as its President.
 Former publicity secretary of DFA Tura Sengrak D Marak conducted the election for the prestigious football association of Garo Hills.
