Meghalaya cricketer in national camp

SHILLONG, May 15: The All India Junior Selection Committee of BCCI has selected Aryan Borah of Meghalaya Cricket Association for the U-16 players national camp to be conducted at National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru from May 22 to June 17,  2017.
Left arm spinner, Aryan Borah, has been shortlisted for the camp by virtue of his sterling bowling performance last season claiming 27 wickets for Meghalaya in the A&A Tournament and a rich haul of 23 wickets while representing the combined A&A team in the BCCI, Vijay Merchant Trophy (Under-16) tournament.

St Anthony’s edge West Jaintia Hills to win Assam Rifles CAPF U-19 boys’ title

SHILLONG, May 13: St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School lifted the maiden Shlur Nongbri trophy in the boys’ division of the Assam Rifles CAPF Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament for Meghalaya with a 2-1 victory over West Jaintia Hills District Sports Association in the final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.
Umsning SC had won the girls’ final on Friday over East Jaintia Hills District Sports Association 1-0.

Shillong Lajong beats DSK Shivajians

SHILLONG, May 12: Shillong Lajong which was reduced to 10 men emerged victorious in the final group stage clash against DSK Shivajians of the Hero Federation Cup 2017 winning by a score line of 3-2 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Friday. Samuela’s stunning display upfront and scoring the winning goal helped him secure the Hero of the Match on Friday.
Interestingly, all the five goals in the game came from players hailing from the North East region.

Resolute Umsning win girls’ title of Assam Rifles CAPF U-19 football

SHILLONG, May 12: Umsning SC claimed the first ever Assam Rifles CAPF Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament girls’ title with a hard fought 1-0 victory over East Jaintia Hills District Sports Association here on Friday.
In a match deserving of the title fight, Umsning had to weather the toughest challenge they have faced in the tournament, but came through thanks to the lone goal scored by their talismanic striker Pynhun Shullet.
It was East Jaintia Hills who had the first couple of chances during the final, with Batbitbha Bareh going narrowly wide with a free-kick and Rushia Dkhar seeing her attempt collected by Umsning goalkeeper Banrisha Wahlang early in the game.

Fed Cup 2017: DSK Shivajians will play against Shillong Lajong

Shillong, May 11: Shillong Lajong will meet Pune based I-League club, DSK Shivajians in the last group B of the Hero Federation Cup 2017 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Fridat at 4PM. The match will broadcast live on Ten 2.
Thangboi Singto’s young brigade failed to register victories in their last two outings, going down by similar score line of 3-2 against Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan AC on 8th and 10th May respectively. So far, the goals for Lajong have come from Yuta Kinowaki who scored one goal each against BFC and Mohun Bagan while Samuel Lalmuanpuia netted one versus Bengaluru FC.
