IMPHAL, Nov 12: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Sunday demanded from the Central Government to reveal the details of the Framework Agreement signed between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India on August 3, 2015. In this regard the leaders of the MPCC carried out a sit-in-protest on Sunday at Khuyathong Bazar in the heart of Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress party veteran and former Chief Minister of Manipur, O Ibobi Singh said that his party will not accept anything that tries to separate Manipur hills and valley.  The former Chief Minister further said that even if the territorial integrity of Manipur is not affected from the outcome of the Framework Agreement there is a strong apprehension that grounds to disintegrate Manipur are in the making.

“If such things as financial autonomy, cultural autonomy, etcetera to the hills are granted then automatically Manipur will disintegrate,” O Ibobi Singh cautioned.
While referring to the recent “all political all political party meeting on the issue of territorial integrity of Manipur with reference to the peace talks between the Government of India and NSCN-IM” convened by the Chief Minister of Manipur and the subsequent formation of the ‘Consultative Committee’, O Ibobi Singh questioned that “if one has no doubts on the assurance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Manipur will not be affected by the Naga political solution then why the all political party meeting or formed the consultative committee on the issue. Ibobi Singh also said that the Congress Government had stood firm for 15 years on the territorial integrity of Manipur. He also shared his experiences in this regard during his tenure as a Chief Minister of Manipur.
Congress legislators AK Mirabai, Th Lokeswar, O Henry and K Meghachandra, Congress workers and supporters participated in the sit-in-protest.
