Meghalaya losing out on everything

Written by Meghalaya Times. Posted in Letter to Editor

Sir,

Apropos to the Editorial - Tripura crowned first position in literacy, Meghalaya loses educational hub tag dated September 10, 2013 in Meghalaya Times, It is indeed a happy note to learn about how Tripura has struggled to reach that position despite so much difficulties and remoteness. With regard to Meghalaya, it was only time that this report would come about with this conclusion.
The fact remains that, Meghalaya is losing out on everything it has in its golden days.

Meghalaya high court additional advocate general

With the inauguration of the Meghalaya High Court in March this year, a question can be posed before the Mukul Sangma government as to whether it is still viable for a small state like ours to have two additional advocate generals at the helm – W.H.D. Syngkon and Dr. Bhagwati Prasad Todi.

REJOINDER

Sir,
In connection with the Letter to the Editor published on 8.08.2013 in your newspaper under the caption “Impolite Conduct of DC’s Office Staff”, where one Baiahun Kharshandi, Dongsharum Umpling, Shillong-793006, had wrongly accused me of being rude to her at the DC’s Office on requesting for filling up the arms license form, I would like to state that no such incident had occurred and the events described by her are false and baseless and I would also like to state that it is not the duty of the staff of the DC’s Office to fill up the form of any applicant.

Negligence to be over looked or who should be blamed

Negligence to be over looked or who should be blamed

Sir,

On Wednesday the 14th August 2013 around 8:00-9:00 am, when I was steadily driving to the particular destination with the thought of having to cross a junction with heavy vehicular traffic and parents holding their children’s hand waiting to cross over to the next side of the road coinciding with the hustle and bustle hour of school and college students rushing hither & thither to their respective place to attend the classes on schedule and exact time I was surprised at the fact that there was no traffic police personnel in attendance.

Impolite conduct of Deputy Commissioner’s staff

Impolite conduct of Deputy Commissioner’s staff

Sir,
I had on the July 30 2013 visited the office of the Deputy Commissioner at about 03:45 pm to enquire the availability of forms in obtaining small arms license for my employer and on being given a copy of the required form, I further enquired as to how to fill up some columns in the form to which as a laywoman I am not too well versed with official formalities but to my surprise and awe! The lady sitting at the counter of the office rudely shouted at me as she said “you want to apply a Gun License but yet you don’t know how to fill-up the form? go away don’t waste my time!”
