SHILLONG, March 07: The Civil Society Women’s Organization (CSWO) on Thursday demanded the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to ask the CBI to probe into the alleged missing of votes from a polling station at Ziksak in Salmanpara constituency in Garo hills.
CSWO president, Agnes Kharshiing said, “The CEO of Meghalaya should immediately get the CBI to investigate this serious anomaly.”

SHILLONG, March 07: Over hundred farmers from Ri-Bhoi district attended the ‘Field Day’ organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), North-eastern Hills, at its division farm on Wednesday.
Tribal farmers from Umeit, Mawnonsynrum, Mawlawi, Kyrdem, Sohrublei, Mawlfin-Mawkhan and Nongdewsaw attended the education and training programme on conservation agriculture with crop yield enhancement.
SHILLONG, March 07: Students and members of different NGOs took out a rally to create awareness on the need to eliminate violence and crimes against women and children here on Thursday.
Carrying placards with messages like “Together we can end violence against women and girls”, “Violence against women is an everyday reality, act now always and forever before it’s too late”, “Men: be real, stop hitting women; Women: be confident, be you”, the marchers walked from Jingkieng Nongthymmai to St Anthony’s playground.
Shillong, March 07: Mission Trust along with Bawri Nathralaya is conducting a free Glaucoma check up and awareness programme on March 11. The programme will be held from 10 AM onwards at Bawri Nethralaya to disseminate information regarding Glaucoma to patients and general public.
