One arrested for murder

SHILLONG, Mar 09: The district police on Thursday arrested one Paul Marak (24) who allegedly stabbed one Jester Passah (37) at Rynjah area.
As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital for medical attention, police said.
They also said that later he was shifted to NEIGRIHMS for medical attention but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
Police are investigating into the matter.

Guwahati, March 09: Former Lok Sabha MP Kirip Chaliha reacting on the ongoing political crisis in Assam Congress remarked that there is no difference in the party. Chaliha quipped saying that if Congress MLAs are meeting to discuss political issues, it should not be construed as otherwise.

33 weapons recovered in Mizoram in 72 hours

Guwahati, March 09: Security forces have recovered 33 weapons in Mizoram in past 72 hours, officials said.
A joint team of Assam Rifles and Special Narcotics police, Aizawl recovered eight AK-47 rifles and ammunition from Km Stone four on Lengpui airport road under Sairang police station on Friday.
