FKJGP puts forth its demands to new government

SHILLONG, March 06: The Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has praised the new Government of the State headed by Dr. Mukul Sangma as the Chief Minister as well as the Opposition parties but asked them to furnish the rules and regulations that come along with it.

Identification of urban poor yet to be completed

SHILLONG, March 06: In order to evolve a uniform methodology for identification of urban BPL, the Planning Commission, in May 2010, constituted an Expert Group under the Chairmanship of Professor S.R. Hashim to recommend the detailed methodology for identification of BPL families in the urban areas.

Dr Kalam’s message to students - Be unique

Shillong, March 06: “It does not matter who you are, you will win!” this is the message that former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam gave to students and teachers from 37 schools in the city that interacted with the world renowned scientist here on Wednesday.
Speaking to students in an interactive session at St Anthony’s College, Shillong, Dr Kalam encouraged each one present to become ‘unique’ with ‘excellence of culture’.

Divided in House, united under umbrella
