Shillong, Sept 22: The Annual Oratory Day was celebrated on Sunday at Christ King College, Shillong.
Hundreds of children from the Oratory Centers of Laitkor, Lumheh, Mawshbuit, Mawlynrei, Nongrah, Lummarboh, Umpling, Mawkhar, Mawprem, Lumparing, Lawsohtun, Marbisu and Laitpynter participated in the celebration.

Pandit Jasraj enthrals Shillongites with music and humility

SHILLONG, Sept 22: One of the world renowned vocal artists of Indian classical music, Pandit Jasraj, apart from enthralling music lovers through his art also charmed fans with his humility on Saturday here.
Pandit Jasraj at the age of eighty-three performed for nearly one hour, defying his age, and his command over his art left fans spellbound. However, what also amazed his fans was his humility that he demonstrated through the concert.

AMA discovers monopoly in Tura market

SHILLONG, Sept 22: The A’chik Mother’s Association (AMA) has discovered the miscreants responsible for the high price of vegetables in the local market.
The leaders of AMA surprised the traders by checking the whole sale at Tura market on Friday morning, making a spectacular discovery of involvement, imposing of the ‘dadagiri’ taxes and series of manipulation by well known individuals.

Six injured in various accidents on Saturday

SHILLONG, Sept 22: One Nirmol Hajong (25), on his way home, sustained injuries after he fell off from his motorbike when it skidded on a turning at Bokmagre under Zikzak Block, South West Garo Hills on Saturday at about 11:05 pm. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance (ESA) based at Ampati helped in shifting Nirmol Hajong to Ampati CHC.

ILP stir fourth phase: 5-day night road-blockade, 2-days office picketing

SHILLONG, Sept 21: Resolute on pushing the government to implement the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya, the pro –ILP pressure groups on Saturday announced their fourth phase of agitation that includes a five-day night road-blockade and two days office picketing across the state from Monday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the ten NGOs held at an undisclosed location on Saturday.
