Two militants nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, Dec 30: Security forces nabbed two hardcore militants of newly formed insurgent group DJNA in Assam's Dima Hasao district on Sunday, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of army and police had launched search operation at Haflong in the hill district and apprehended the militant duo.


Security forces seized one 9 mm pistol, one hand grenade and ammunition in possession of them.
The nabbed militants were identified as Binod Langthasa and Jimi Thaosen.
On other hand, a cadre of Garo rebel group Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) surrendered before police at Hamren in Karbi Anglong district on Sunday.
The militant deposited one AK-56 rifle, two magazines, eight rounds live ammunition before top police officials.
