Selection procedures for Khasi Film Awards commences

SHILLONG Dec 22: The selection procedure for the first ever Khasi Film Awards has commenced with a total of 40 entries received by the organisers on December 15 last.
As per rules for nominations to all categories of the awards, the shortlisted entries will undergo preferential voting through ballot in which members of the direction branch, writers branch, technical branch and music branch comprising of 6 members each will vote to nominate the finalists who will compete for the 17 categories of awards.

The nominees will then be judged by a 4 jury panel. People’s choice in the form of  SMS and web voting will also be taken into account and its value will be added up to the jury’s score. The final tabulation will then be done by a competent chattered accountant who will then seal the results until announcement. It is worth mentioning that this is the first award of its kind being conceptualized to uplift and promote the Khasi film industry which is gaining ground.
For the first edition, 30 Khasi films and 10 Jaintia films will undergo the nomination procedures, the details of which can be found on
