Shillong lad conferred National NSS Volunteer Award

SHILLONG, Nov 29: NSS Volunteer of Shillong College, Tara Prasad Upadhay, has been conferred with the Indira Gandhi National NSS Volunteer Award 2012.
The Award was presented by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at a function held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on November 19 last coinciding with the Birth Anniversary of the Late Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi.
Upadhay was one amongst the two NSS Volunteer from North Eastern States of India selected for the award.
This is the third consecutive year that Shillong College has bagged this prestigious award.
Previously, Palvy Dora Kharkongor and Wantreki Lyngdoh, both being the NSS volunteers of Shillong college were conferred with the same award in the year 2010 and 2011 respectively.
