East Himalayan Expo seeks to widen trade horizons

SHILLONG, Dec 06: The 10th edition of East Himalayan Expo is being organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) with active support of the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Meghalaya at SRGT 2nd ground at Polo Grounds, Shillong from December 10 to 17, 2018.
The Expo aims to widen trade horizons and enhance business links in the eastern Himalayan region especially when there is focus of the Government on ‘Act East Policy’.


This year, the event is significant as Shillong has been selected as the 100th city under the Centre’s flagship ‘Smart Cities Mission’ and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMURT). Being the capital of Meghalaya, Shillong is considered an important trade and tourism destination in the eastern Himalayan region.
The display profile covers a wide range of eco- friendly life style products. These include: organic products, packed foods, carpets, home furnishing, kitchenware, AYUSH products, textiles, woolen garments, leather goods, health and beauty products, food and confectionery items, handicrafts, garments, products of rural artisans, Self Help Groups, SME’s products and services.
The 10th East Himalayan Expo will be one the largest exhibitions in this region and will open from 10 am to 6 pm where entry will be free.
