SHILLONG, Oct 06: The great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Tushar Arun Gandhi has said that the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi are being politicized and that this is visible merely on objects and not on human values.
He said this while speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the international Conference on Mahatma Gandhi’s Vision organised by USTM in its campus.

Stating that it is wrong to politicize the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi for personal benefits, Tushar Arun Gandhi, said that the ideologies of the Father of the Nation should be brought from political dynasty and must be applied into people’s lives.
Holding people responsible for the existing situation in the country where politicians are reaping benefits out of it,  Tushar Arun Gandhi said that the India of today does not seemed to be the India which Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of as it has become exactly the opposite.
Addressing the gathering earlier during the day he said, “Since many years, political leadership in India has been party based, instead of broad nationalistic view. Bapu’s ideals must be adopted in our nature and not simply in references. If we cannot do this, it is disrespect to him.”
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Governor, Tathagata Roy, who inaugurated the conference said that Gandhiji not only gave India its freedom but also gave the world a new thought on nonviolence and sustainable living.
