SHILLONG, Sep 15: The spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who is in charge of the party in Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli has lambasted former Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma who had stated that the centre’s health scheme - Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a replica of the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) initiated by the then Congress led government.
In this regard, Kohli questioned why the Congress had failed to come back to power in Meghalaya if Dr. Sangma thinks that he has done a good job for the people of the state.
Dr. Sangma had recently alleged that the BJP-led NDA government’s healthcare scheme, Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Scheme (AB-NHPS) was replicated from Meghalaya’s – Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS).
“Even the bidding document is replicated from the MHIS scheme,” Dr. Sangma had said.
“I believe that people very rarely vote out a government which works for them. So when an argument is taken that you are doing good work and people don’t acknowledge that, one wonders who the great work was for, for your cadre, for your leader or for the people,” Kohli had said on Saturday.
The BJP leader also stated that the Congress leader was not able to communicate to the people of Meghalaya and through him to the rest of the country about all the good work that they were doing.
