SHILLONG, Sep 11: National People’s Party (NPP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong led a scathing attack on former Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma and called him the worst Chief Minister that he has ever met in his political career till date.
“I was part of the Meghalaya United Alliance (MUA) government under his leadership and I found that he is the worst Chief Minister I have ever met in my political career till today,” said Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday.
Tynsong had made this statement while reacting to the statement made by the present leader of the opposition, Dr. Sangma who had stated on Monday that governance is an art and not everybody’s cup of tea. Dr. Sangma had also pointed out that Congress lead MUA government despite financial constraints, had come up with an health policy that is appreciated, accepted and even replicated in other parts of the country.
Stating that it is irresponsible for Dr. Sangma to make such a statement, Tynsong said that he has been in the chair for not less than eight years and he is irresponsible for talking that way. “This is not fair,” he added.
Tynsong asserted that the MDA government is running well under the leadership of incumbent Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma while reiterating the government’s commitment to look after the interests of the people.
