Series of meetings lined up on Sweepers’ Colony issue

SHILLONG, Sep 11: The High Level Committee (HLC) constituted to look into the relocation of Sweepers’ Colony is yet to submit its recommendation to the government and is still carrying on with the process of meeting with all the stakeholders before submitting its recommendations to the state government.


Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong who is also the chairman of the HLC on Tuesday informed that the committee had met the Syiem of Hima Mylliem on Monday and many more meetings are lined up for the next week.
“Our ultimate aim is to come out with a solution to the issue and we are meeting the Syiem of Hima Mylliem and we also have a meeting next week,” said Tynsong.
Asked when the matter will be over and done with, Tynsong said, “Once that is done we will proceed further and give our recommendations to the government”.
