Cabinet approves appointment of lecturers in Williamnagar and Tura Government College

SHILLONG, Sep 07: The State Cabinet has approved the appointment of lecturers in Williamnagar and Tura Government College.
Informing this here after a cabinet meeting on Friday, the state’s Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui said that there is a total of 16 vacant posts of lecturers in these colleges. Out of these, 13 vacancies are in Williamnagar Government College while 3 vacancies are in Tura Government College, which will now be filled up.


Meanwhile, Rymbui further informed that the Cabinet has also approved the proposal to enhance the merit scholarship for students in the lower primary and upper primary level.
Informing that the Directorate of Educational Research and Training every year is conducting examination for the merit scholarship in the 15 Civil Sub Divisions across the State, Rymbui said that the merit scholarship for the lower primary level has been enhance from the existing Rs 100 to Rs 600 per month adding that the merit scholarship for the upper primary level has been increase from the existing Rs 40 to Rs 600 per months.
“We hope that this decision will motivate the students,” Rymbui added.
