SHILLONG, June 13: While the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) has decided to lift its suspension order on its MDC from Mawhati, James Sylliang it is yet to take the same decision on another MDC, Grace Mary Kharpuri who represents Nongskhen constituency in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the central working committee (CWC) of the party and the Mawhati Zonal Committee held in the city here on Wednesday.

Sylliang and Kharpuri were placed under a one year suspension for their alleged anti-party activities by rebelling against the party’s chairman PN Syiem, who is also the KHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM).
PDF working president Emlang Lytan informed after the meeting that this gathering was called to specifically discuss the need to lift the suspension order against Sylliang.
“We will take a final call on the matter in the upcoming meeting to be held on June 18 in the presence of party president I Marbaniang, chairman PN Syiem and leaders of Mawhati which will include James Sylliang,” he said.
He however said that the meeting has not discussed on the suspension order against Nongskhen MDC.
Earlier, Sylliang, who has been campaigning against KHADC chief for allegedly misusing Rs 28 crore fund sanctioned by the Centre, had also dissolved the PDF Zonal Committee Mawhati and declared there will be no more PDF in the constituency.
Admitting this during the meeting, the leaders of the Committee said that the action taken was in view of the fact that the CWC has failed to inform the committee about its decision to suspend the MDC of Mawhati.
