SHILLONG, June 05: Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma on Tuesday took a pot shot at UDP leader and former West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh, saying the latter is ‘out of circulation’, therefore he’s trying to attract attention.
“Paul Lyngdoh has gone out of circulation. He would like to attract and draw attention of the people because he is not in reckon… It is as simple as that as that, usual style of Paul Lyngdoh we know,” Dr. Sangma told reporters on Tuesday.
He was reacting to the statement made by Lyngdoh where he had blamed Congress for failing relocate Sweepers’ Lane from Them Iew Mawlong.

According to him, number of facilities and accommodation has been created for shifting the harijans and that is why now it is necessary for everybody to look at how it should be properly planned.
“Based on that they should look at the possibility that is available before the government. When we say best possibility mean something which is acceptable to the people, which are in sync with the sentiments of the people that is how the whole challenge that we as government can confront and can be handled with and overcome,” he said.
Supporting the demand to shift the Sweepers’ Colony, Dr. Sangma said in fact not just supporting but this was one of the initiatives of all the political parties and it is something which is available as part of the record of the government.
“That is why am saying now how it should be done – let the measures taken by the government be acceptable by the people,” he said.
