SHILLONG, May 14: A condolence meeting in remembrance of late Kaustubh Tarmale, a participant of the PGP 2017-19 batch was held at IIM Shillong’s Mayurbhanj campus on Monday wherein Tarmale was fondly remembered by most as a “courteous, deeply thinking, likable and quiet individual ever ready to help co-participants on campus.”

In what can be termed as shocking news for the IIM Shillong fraternity, news of the untimely death of the 26 year old was received late on Sunday evening by members of the Institute. The incident occurred near Mumbai on Saturday last.
Initial reports suggest that Tarmale lost his life after successfully saving three of his cousins from drowning in Bhatsa river while on a family picnic with close relatives. Kaustubh was known to be a very good swimmer. The student of IIM Shillong was in the midst of his internship, and is a resident of  Maharashtra.
