TURA, May 09: The contest for the Ampati seat which goes to polls this coming May 28 may turn out to be a two horse affair after the BJP contestant, Bakul Hajong said that his candidature is still undecided.
The revelation came about after Hajong was contacted for his comments on the matter who said that he is in talks with the state BJP leadership in Shillong and waiting for the party’s nod to contest.
Miani D Shira, the Congress candidate has already filed her nomination on Tuesday while NPP candidate, Clement G Momin in filed his papers on Wednesday.
“I will most likely not contest this time as being a part of the NDA coalition talks are on to drop my nomination. A decision is being taken currently by the state president along with other leaders on the matter but from the vibes, I will most likely not contest,” said Hajong.
Hajong also ruled out contesting as an independent and will go with the decision of the party.
