Hek to take up MUDA building byelaws with Conrad

SHILLONG, March 09: Meghalaya’s new MUDA Minister, AL Hek will soon take up issues pertaining to the MUDA building byelaws with Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma such that problems associated with this vexed issue are resolved at the earliest.
“The matter will be taken up before the chief minister and we hope that the issues will be resolved amicably,” Hek said after convening a meeting with the Urban Affairs Minister Hamlet Dohling and traditional heads from Golflink area here on Friday.

He said at present people are facing much difficulty for applying permission for building constructions.
Hek pointed out that before the elections,  the Dorbar Shnong of Golflink had asked him to raise the issue   when he was  the Minister in the previous meeting and he along with two other former Ministers- Ampareen  Lyngdoh and  Roshan Warjri wrote a letter to the then Chief Minister after which a meeting was called   to discuss the matter.
“Before our meeting, the former Chief Minister did not even want to call a meeting on the matter,” he said.
