SHILLONG, March 04: Congress leader, Dr Mukul Sangma on Sunday tendered his resignation as the chief minister of the state. Dr Sangma submitted his resignation letter to Governor Ganga Prasad on Sunday afternoon.
It may be mentioned that Dr Sangma successfully contested in two seats — Songsak and Ampati, the results of which were declared on Saturday.
Later, Dr Sangma visited UDP president Dr Donkupar Roy at his residence at Pine Mount ridge.
“The people of the State have given the fractured mandate. Therefore, it is obvious that they will have to align with other political parties,” Dr. Sangma told reporters here on Sunday.
