SHILLONG, Feb 13: Congress MP from Assam Gaurav Gogoi has taken a dig at the BJP in Meghalaya while accusing it of having an anti-minority stand. Gogoi also dubbed the NPP MP from Tura, Conrad Sangma a ‘Trojan Horse’ with regard to the recent visa denial case of the president of the Baptist Church who was scheduled to visit Garo Hills.
Gogoi was campaigning at Harijan colony for the Congress candidate from South Shillong constituency, Manas Choudhury on Tuesday.
Asked if senior BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma will have a bearing in Meghalaya post elections, Gogoi fired a volley of accusations.
However when asked to comment on accusations that sitting Congress legislators have also been named in scams like the education and sugar scam, Gogoi said that the BJP is anxious and as such is making these ‘false’ allegations.
On the other two poll bound states of the North East, Gogoi exuded confidence of victory for the Congress party.
