SHILLONG, Feb 08: The Working President of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Vincent Pala has stated that the National People’s Party (NPP) has revealed that it is working with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by not fielding a candidate in Ampati.

“Ampati, the constituency of the chief minister Mukul Sangma is a case which clearly indicates that the NPP is supporting the BJP and both parties are the same,” Pala had said here on Thursday.
He said that the NPP has been exposed as it has failed to field any candidate in Ampati, while the BJP is fielding Bokul Hajong against the Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma.
“The Congress has always maintained that BJP and NPP are the same and this is case number one that they have been exposed that they are hand in hand and are working together unitedly (in the upcoming Assembly polls),” Pala said.
The working president of the Congress further alleged that even the regional political parties are working with the BJP.
Pointing out that the BJP has not fielded a candidate from West Shillong constituency, which is represented by the UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh, Pala said that this shows that there is an understanding between the regional parties and the BJP.
