TURA, Feb 06: In a shocker, the United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate from South Tura, Pallab D Arengh has resigned from the party just prior to filing his nomination papers on Tuesday.

While Arengh cited personal reasons for his resignation, his doing so at the eleventh hour has raised many questions.
A close source of the candidate stated that the resignation of Pallab was personal and he was still contemplating whether to stand for the upcoming election or not.
With Wednesday being the last day for filing of nominations, Arengh has very little time to decide and if sources are to be believed, he may file his nomination as an independent rather than being part of the UDP.
