Election office holds VVPAT orientation programme for political parties

SHILLONG, Jan 05: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong conducted a half day orientation programme for various politicat parties of the State of Meghalaya on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong on Friday.


A detailed and thorough presentation on the functioning of the Electronic Voting Machine and the VVPAT was made, followed by practical session on the functioning of the various components of the EVM including the VVPAT. The session included mock poll and verification of the slips dispensed by the VVPAT, wherein, the representatives’ of the various political parties participated.
The session was attended by the representatives of lndian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Nationalist Congress Party, United Democratic Party and People’s Democratic Front.
