TURA, Dec 06: In a big blow to the National People’s Party (NPP), Dr Pilne A Sangma, has resigned from the party citing lack of time to devote to the cause of the party.
Dr Sangma, who is an aspirant to contest the upcoming 2018 MLA elections from Rangsakona submitted her resignation to the West Garo Hills general secretary of the party.

“My personal commitment to my supporters and my people as well as their pressure to contest the upcoming elections has left very little time to volunteer for party related activities with the thoroughness that I want to give,” said Dr Pilne, adding the resignation would be effective from Wednesday.
The Rangsakona seat will be keenly contested between incumbent Cabinet Minister, Zenith Sangma, the official NPP candidate, Subir Marak with more contestants likely to join the fray in the coming days, including the BJP candidate.
