SHILLONG, Sep 07: Educational institutions affiliated to the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) will individually have to maintain a 50% pass percentage if they want to retain this affiliation.
In a statement issued here, MBOSE executive chairman Pravin Bakshi said that as per the MBOSE Regulation for Affiliation (Chapter iv.2i), all affiliated institutions are required to maintain an average pass percentage of 50% in the board examinations.
He however said that in the past three years’ record of the SSLC and HSSLC Examinations it has been indicated that many institutions have failed to maintain the said criteria.
Taking serious note of this, Bakshi said the board hereby cautions all such institution to take necessary measures in order to achieve satisfactory pass percentage in the coming years.
“Failing which the Board will take necessary action as per the Regulations, which may include de-affiliation, if necessary (Chapter vi.1ii),” he added.
