SHILLONG, Aug 08: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma of failing to utilize the central funds for the development of the state and repairing or building the wooden bridges in Garo Hills in particular.
“The Chief Minister should explain to the people as to why the State Government has not used the central funds to repair the wooden bridges in Garo Hills despite being the Chief Minister for so long,” said BJP Meghalaya in charge and National Spokesperson, Nalin Kohli who is on a three day visit to the state and accompanied by BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Ramlal.
The two BJP leaders will hold meetings of the party’s organizational setup in the state for the 2018 Assembly elections.

On poll preparedness of the party, Kohli said that the identification of candidates is going on at different levels and Central Election Committee will give its final nod on the matter.
“We are confident about the party’s preparations and the kind of candidates we want,” Kohli said.
