SHILLONG, April 12: Lambasting the DIG, West Garo Hills, Mukesh Singh for hurting the sentiments of Christians residing in Tura town, the MLA representing South Tura constituency, John Leslee Sangma has demanded that this high ranking police officer is removed entirely from Garo Hills.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma on Tuesday, John Leslee expressed his shock after having witnessed an event that he says was organized by the DIG at Parade Ground, Tura on Palm Sunday which he says had disturbed church going Christians on their most holy Sunday.
“People of Tura had to bear the brunt of loud music with the person holding the microphone shouting at the top of his voice throughout the day which continued late into the night,” John Leslee said in his letter of complaint to the CM.
“His (the DIG) act has hurt the sentiments of the people, especially Christians and therefore he needs to be immediately removed from Garo Hills to retain the goodwill of the people to the policies and secular stance of the Government,” John Leslee said.
