Meghalaya Girl bags three gold medals by securing 92.40%

SHILLONG, Jan 31:
Yvonne Angel Lyngdoh Mawphlang, an M.Sc. (Horticulture) (Vegetable Sciences), bagged three gold medals from the University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot, Karnataka .
The student bagged the first gold medal for securing the topmost position in her stream by securing an aggregate of 92.40 percent.
She was also rewarded with the "Late Dr. Gangadhar. S. Kori of Bijapur Gold Medal for having secured the highest overall grade point average and first rank from among the Master of Science (Horticulture) graduates during the academic year 2010 - 11.
The third gold medal was the "Dr. K. Shama Bhat Memorial Gold Medal" also pertaining to the category as awarded to her for the second gold medal.
It may be mentioned that the Yvonne completed her I. C. S. E from Loreto Convent, Shillong by securing a first division,  secured a first division in the HSSLC examinations (science stream) from St. Mary’s College before pursuing her B.Sc. (Horticultural Sciences) from Central Agricultural University College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh.
Currently, the student is pursuing her Ph.D. from West Bengal and her area of research is on the French bean.
